Become a DOT qualified Screening Test Technician (STT) in this brief but comprehensive training course in measuring Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC) for DOT-regulated employees. This course complies with the three benchmarks of training required by federal regulation 49 CFR Part 40.213(a-c) including Basic Information Training, Qualification Training, and five Initial Proficiency Demonstrations. This course requires that the trainee have or obtain an Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) which appears on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Conforming Product’s List (NHTSA CPL) for Screening Devices to Measure Alcohol in Bodily Fluids. If you aren’t sure where to start in the search for a new breath testing device, check out our article “ASD v. EBT: How To Choose The Right Alcohol Testing Device.”

Whether you want to be the first technician on the scene to an accident or if you want to simply add alcohol screening to your laundry list of testing services, this course will prepare you for success in this growing field.

This course is not for those who plan to become a Breath Alcohol Technician and use an evidential breath testing device (EBT Device) which is capable of both screening and confirmation. That course can be found here.
